COVID-19 How to Stay Safe

How to stay safe during the COVID-19 Pandemic?

Good self-hygiene!

  • Please wash your hands regularly for 20 seconds

  • Alternatively, you can use alcohol hand sanitiser with at least 60% alcohol if hand washing is not readily available

  • Do a ‘dab’ and cough/sneeze! Cough and sneeze into your elbow to avoid spreading the droplets to other people

  • Please don’t touch your face

  • Please wear a mask if you are symptomatic

Social distancing

  • Please stay 1 metre away from other people

  • Please avoid shaking your hands

  • To those in Malaysia:

  • To those of you in the UK

    • Please work from home if possible (unless if you are a healthcare staff or other workers who need to be in)

    • Please avoid non-essential contact with others

    • Please avoid theatres, pubs, and other social venues

    • Please avoid unnecessary travel for 30 days

    • If you have a new continuous cough or high temperature, please self-isolate for 14 days from when the symptoms started (or 7 days if you live alone)

    • Anyone who lives with someone who has symptoms should stay at home for 14 days.

    • Check https://www.nhs.uk/

  • Please avoid contacts with elderly people and vulnerable people who are immunosuppressed

Don’t stockpile

  • Please don’t stockpile medical equipment such as masks as we currently have a global shortage and healthcare professionals need them to treat positive patients

  • Please be sensible and DO NOT do panic buying of any product

  • Please be considerate of others

  • Please only buy food supplies that you need and not stockpiling them at home

DO NOT spread misinformation.

  • Please check the sources before sharing them to your friends and family.

  • DO NOT SHARE IF YOU ARE NOT SURE.

  • Please only read information from credible sources like WHO, Ministry of Health, CDC and trusted doctors.

This is a global effort, we are not racing against each other, we are racing against the virus. Please help and support each other, BE KIND. Please pray for us, healthcare professionals all over the world for working around the clock to keep everyone safe. To all my dear colleagues no matter where you are, thank you for your service.
